About

Novelist and Screenwriter, Dr. Estefan San Martin divides his time in coastal towns, Ft. Myers Florida and Southern California in the sunny little beach town of Carlsbad where he is never parted with his constant companion, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Dante. A family man, he is very close to his loving son Christian and he adores his daughter Amanda. He is single, (divorced), a fitness buff and a former collegiate athlete (infielder and defensive back SDSU) and follows his beloved alma mater, the San Diego State Aztecs, devoutly follows the LA Chargers, Tampa Bucs, LA Clippers and Lakers. Favorite food- tie between fried chicken and pork chops, favorite cookie, oatmeal with raisins. Favorite nut-macadamia, favorite song, Crazy Love, he is a life-long lover of learning and possesses five academic degrees culminating in a Ph.D. in Psychology.

He describes his writing style as "Gonzo Literature,"  combining the randomness of life, incorporating method acting (studied at Lee Strasberg Institute)   "channeling" emotions and "becoming" his characters as he writes while injecting real-life experience then writing, critically incorporating "real life" encounters and blending his fertile imagination to his storytelling..  An example of the Gonzo approach, with a salute to Hunter S Thompson-  Estefan spent two weeks with a shoplifting ring and other individuals on the fringe of society in order to write about the experiences with a knowledge-based perspective. "Gonzo writing" can expose a writer to dangerous situations he advised, as he was calling from a meeting of ladies with sexual addictions during this interview. There are 3 books coming in the next 12 months with many more beyond he promises.
